5 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME:

5. The Florida Panthers play their second game of a four-game homestand this evening against the Dallas Stars. Tonight marks the Cats final game prior to the All-Star break, after the break, Florida will host the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 27 and the Montreal Canadiens on Jan. 29. The Panthers have yet to lose a game in regulation during the 2009 calendar year going 5-0-3, earning 13 out of a possible 16 points, while scoring 35 goals over that span.

4. D Jay Bouwmeester, who was named to the 2009 Eastern Conference All-Star team on Thursday, Jan. 8, ranks 2nd in the NHL averaging 27:26 of ice time per game and has 18 points (10-8-18) with a +10 rating in his last 25 games played. He had a four-game goal scoring streak snapped on Jan. 19 vs. Buffalo and has recorded seven points (4-3-7) in his last seven games played.

3. C Michael Frolik, who was named to the 2009 Eastern Conference YoungStars on Friday, Jan. 9, ranks 8th among NHL rookie scoring leaders with 20 points (9-11-20). In addition, Frolik places fourth among rookie leaders in shots on goal (77), 10th in rookie goal scoring (9) and 10th in power play points (6).

2. The Panthers and Stars meet tonight for the first time since March 1, 2007, when the Cats handed Dallas 2-1 overtime loss in South Florida. The Panthers last home loss to Dallas occurred on Dec. 27, 2002 (0-4).

1. LW David Booth has recorded 17 points (7-10-17) in his last 14 games played and paces the Panthers with 19 goals and 31 points (19-12-31).
