5 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME:

5. The Florida Panthers play their second game of a four-game road trip this afternoon against Pittsburgh. After today's game the Panthers will play Montreal tomorrow and in Toronto on Jan. 6. After completing the trip, the Cats will play seven of their next nine games in South Florida, with road contests in Tampa Bay (Jan. 17) and at the NY Islanders (Jan. 31). The Panthers are currently 0-1-0 on the trip, dropping a 4-2 decision to the NY Islanders on Dec. 31.

4. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks second in the NHL averaging 27:41 of ice time per game and has 11 points (6-5-11) with a +4 rating in his last 17 games played.

3. Florida's goaltending tandem of Tomas Vokoun and Craig Anderson places 11th in the NHL with a 2.64 GAA and third with a .922 save percentage.

2. Panthers LW David Booth has recorded six points (3-3-6) in his last five games played and paces Florida with 15 goals.

1. Panthers C Michael Frolik ranks 11th among the NHL's rookie scoring leaders with 15 points (6-9-15). In addition, Frolik places seventh among rookie leaders with 60 shots and ninth with five power play points.
