5. The Panthers complete a stretch of five straight on the road this evening in Carolina. Florida had their franchise record five-game road winning streak halted on Sunday, Dec. 14, when they suffered a 5-3 setback to the Vancouver Canucks. Prior to that game, the Cats posted five consecutive victories that included victories in Calgary (3-2 SOW), at Edmonton on Dec. 11 (2-0), at Ottawa on Dec. 8 (4-3 OTW), at Washington on Dec. 2 (5-3) and at NY Rangers (4-0). Florida is 3-1 on their current five-game road trip.

4. G Craig Anderson is 5-2-2 in his last nine games played and first among NHL league leaders (as of 12/17) with a .940 save percentage and fifth with a 2.15 GAA. Since Jan. 3, 2008, Anderson has posted a 16-5-3 mark in games that he has started.

3. The line combination of C Gregory Campbell (4-4-8), LW Ville Peltonen (3-6-9) and RW Radek Dvorak (3-7-10) has accounted for 10 goals and 17 assists in their last 11 games played.

2. Each of the last 10 games played between the two clubs, dating back to the start of the 2007-08, have been decided by two goals or less, with seven of the 10 games being decided by just one goal. In addition, when the two clubs last met on Nov. 24 in South Florida, the Panthers were not awarded a power play opportunity. Prior to that game, the last time the Panthers were not awarded a power play opportunity was also against the Hurricanes in a game played in Carolina on April 4, 2008.

1. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks second in the NHL averaging 27:44 (as of 12/17) of ice time per game and has recorded 15 points (6-9-15) in his last 16 games played. Additionally, he has 10 points (6-4-10) with a +8 rating in his last 10 games played. Bouwmeester currently paces the Panthers with 18 points (6-12-18).
