5 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME:

5. The Florida Panthers play their third game of a four-game road trip this afternoon in Montreal. The Panthers and the Canadiens last played one another less than a week ago on Monday, Dec. 29, with Montreal handing the Cats a 5-2 loss. After today's game, the two club's will close out the season series on Jan. 29 in South Florida. Florida currently is 1-1-0 on their current road trip which ends with a contest in Toronto on Jan. 6.

4. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks second in the NHL averaging 27:38 of ice time per game and has 11 points (6-5-11) with a +4 rating in his last 18 games played.

3. The Florida Panthers earned their most decisive win of the season yesterday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Six different Florida players recorded multiple point games, while 12 players recorded at least one point in the win.

2. Panthers LW David Booth has recorded seven points (3-4-7) in his last six games played and currently paces Florida with 15 goals. He also currently has a four game point scoring streak (3-3-6) in tact.

1. Panthers C Michael Frolik ranks 11th among the NHL's rookie scoring leaders with 16 points (7-9-16). In addition, Frolik places eighth among rookie leaders with 62 shots.
