5 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME:


5. The Florida Panthers return home for their first game at the BankAtlantic Center since Dec. 6, when they hosted the Boston Bruins. The Panthers completed their recent five-game road trip with a 3-1-1 mark, picking up seven out of a possible 10 points, earning wins at Ottawa on Dec. 8 (4-3 OTW), at Edmonton on Dec. 11 (2-0) and at Calgary (3-2 SOW), before dropping a 5-3 decision to Vancouver on Dec. 14 and a 2-1 overtime loss in Carolina on Dec. 18. The Cats will play their next three games at home, hosting Colorado tonight, Nashville on Dec. 23 and Tampa Bay on Dec. 26.

4. G Craig Anderson is 5-2-2 in his last nine games played and first among NHL league leaders with a .940 save percentage and fifth with a 2.15 GAA.
Since Jan. 3, 2008, Anderson has posted a 16-5-3 mark in games that he has started.

3. The line combination of C Gregory Campbell (4-4-8), LW Ville Peltonen (3-7-10) and RW Radek Dvorak (3-7-10) has accounted for 10 goals and
18 assists in their last 12 games played.

2. The Panthers have only defeated the Avalanche once in South Florida, earning a 4-2 win over the then Quebec Nordiques on April 22, 1995. In the
last two meetings between the two clubs, Florida has picked up at least one point, with the Colorado earning a 4-3 shootout win over the Panthers last
year in South Florida and a 5-4 overtime victory for the Avalanche in Colorado on Feb. 6, 2007.

1. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks second in the NHL averaging 27:43 of ice time per game and has recorded 15 points (6-9-15) in his last 17 games
played. Additionally, he has 10 points (6-4-10) with a +9 rating in his last 11 games played. Bouwmeester currently paces the Panthers with 18 points
(6-12-18).
