THE SHINNY:
The top ranked European skater according to C.S.S., Adam Larsson has played for two seasons in the Swedish Elite League for Skelleftea. Making his debut at 16 years of age, he was just one of three defensemen to make their debuts at that age (Calle Johansson and Victor Hedman).

Larsson has competed as numerous world tournaments, including the 2010 and 2011 World Junior Championships and 2010 Under-18 World Championships..

NHL Central Scouting's Chris Edwards: “Adam is one of the best skater’s in this year’s draft -- he has excellent speed and mobility. He also has patient puck handling abilities and can surprise an opponent with a solid hit. His size and skating ability make him comparable with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman."

NEWS:
Larsson Remains No. 1 Among Euro Prospects
(4.11.11) What is the chance defenseman Adam Larsson becomes the first Swedish-born player to be taken first in an Entry Draft since Mats Sundin was taken by the Quebec Nordiques with the first pick in 1989?

Actually, the odds are pretty good for Larsson to earn the distinction when the first round of the 2011 Entry Draft is held June 24 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.

Scouts Say Larsson Is Ahead Of Hedman
(1.10.1) While a significant amount of attention has been focused on the top North American skaters available for the 2011 Entry Draft with Monday's release of NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings, don't count out the possibility of hearing the name Adam Larsson when that first choice is made in June.

Larsson, a Swedish defenseman whose exceptional puck-handling, poise and booming shot will have scouts and general managers considering their options, is the top-rated European prospect on the board.
