SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers prospects D Colby Robak
(Brandon – WHL) and C Scott Timmins
(Windsor – OHL) will represent their respective teams when the 2010 Mastercard Memorial Cup begins on Friday, May 14 in Brandon, Manitoba.
Robak, 20, played in 71 games during the regular season for Brandon, tallying 66 points (16-50-66), third in the WHL this season among defensemen. He also ranked first in the WHL in 2009-10 with a plus-56 rating. Robak, a WHL Eastern Conference All-Star Team selection, added three goals with nine assists in 15 postseason contests. Signed by the Panthers to an entry level contract on May 5, 2010, Robak will be playing in his first Memorial Cup.
Timmins, 20, played in 56 regular season games for Windsor, notching 54 points (30-24-54) and a plus-28 rating. In 19 postseason contests, Timmins added eleven goals with eleven assists. The Hamilton, Ontario native will be playing in his third consecutive Memorial Cup tournament (Windsor – 2008-09 & Kitchener – 2007-08). He was drafted by Florida in the sixth round (165th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
