  Jacob Josefson

The Lowdown:
   6-0, 187 pounds
   Djurgarden, Sweden
   DOB: 3-2-91 – Stockholm, Sweden
   Final rank: 3. Midterm rank: 3 (Eur-S)

The Shinny:
Playing against men on Sweden’s elite team, Josefson scored 16 points (five goals) in 50 games. Averaged roughly 10 minutes a game on fourth line. Good at both ends of20the ice. Recorded 31 points in 34 games in 2007-08 on Djurgarden’s junior team. Won a silver medal earlier this year in Under-18 World Championships, scoring seven points (two goals) with a plus-five rating in six games. Also a member of Sweden’s Under-18 team that finished fourth in Worlds in ’08.
Director of European Scouting Goran Stubb: “He is a very good two-way player. He has a very good responsibility for his defensive duties. He’s more a playmaker, a guy who sees the ice really well, creates a lot of scoring chances with his passing skills. He’s very good with the stick and very good in traffic because he is an excellent stickhandler. He’s a smooth passer with very soft hands.”
Djurgarden’s head coach Tomas Monten: “Josefson is among an elite band of 1991 birth-year players – there are just three, in fact – playing regularly in the Elitserien. He’s not that big, but he’s physically built. He looks like a player that is 25. When we were making the decision, we couldn’t look at his age, just how he was competing against the other players on the team. He strenghts are that he can read the play, he’s strong with the puck, moves his feet really well and he always get himself time when he gets the puck on his stick.”
Josefson on Josefson: “I’m a pretty good skater and see the ice pretty good. I like to set up some plays and I always give 100 percent…Being drafted in the NHL is a dream, every hockey player wants to play in the NHL and I do, too. It’s one of the biggest things I want to do.”:
Did you know: Josefson watches Vincent Lecavalier and Henrik Zetterberg to see how they react in different situations.
