by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
Leading up to the 2008 draft, will be highlighting some of the top prospects to look out for. Could the Panthers draft one of these players with their pick in the second round or might they move up to grab one of these top players to further bolster their system and hope they contribute to the big club one day?

Each week day, we'll take a look at three prospects and get Panthers Director of Amateur Scouting Scott Luce's opinion on each of them.

Named Lethbridge Hurricanes Rookie of the Year. Led all WHL defensemen through first two rounds of the playoffs, recording 13 points (10 assists) in 11 games. Represented Switzerland in the 2008 World Junior Championships and the 2007 Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial. Participated in CHL Top Prospects Game.

Smart player who moves the puck at the right time and carries the puck correctly. Supports the rush and is adjusting very well to North American game. Sometimes too poised. His calmness with the puck can be misinterpreted as either slowness or laziness, but that’s not the case. Needs to improve when under a hard forecheck.

Two-way defenseman with some offensive upside. Good puck skills.
