2008 NHL Draft: Kyle Beach

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
Leading up to the 2008 draft, will be highlighting some of the top prospects to look out for. Could the Panthers draft one of these players with their pick in the second round or might they move up to grab one of these top players to further bolster their system and hope they contribute to the big club one day?

Each week day, we'll take a look at three prospects and get Panthers Director of Amateur Scouting Scott Luce's opinion on each of them.

Awarded the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as WHL Rookie of the Year after scoring 61 points (29 goals) in 2006-07.

One of the top forwards in draft and probably the most competitive. From the blue line there is no one that competes like him. Feisty, has a reputation for being physical and agitates a bit, but ranks as the top power forward in this year’s draft. Good scoring skills, accurate shot. From the blue line in, once he gets the puck he owns it.

Gritty power forward that loves to agitate. Has touch as well.
