2008 NHL Draft: Jacob Markstrom

Leading up to the 2008 draft, will be highlighting some of the top prospects to look out for. Could the Panthers draft one of these players with their pick in the second round or might they move up to grab one of these top players to further bolster their system and hope they contribute to the big club one day?

Led Sweden to first-ever gold medal at the 2007 Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial. Stopped 38 of 40 shots against Team Canada. Posted 2.57 goals against and .924 save percentage for Sweden’s national Under-17 team in 2006-07.


Covers the net well and plays with a lot of confidence. Plays butterfly, but sometimes tends to go down too quickly. Impressive, quick glove and used his size to his advantage.


Very athletic goalie. Good size with solid upside to his game.
