SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that 18,178 fans packed the BankAtlantic Center on Saturday night for an exciting game and incredible live sports experience as the Florida Panthers fell to the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
The “Center of it All” was packed for the Cats’ second to last home game of the season, despite strong competition from the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four, the Florida Marlins-New York Mets game (with a postgame concert from Pitbull), the Sony Ericsson Open, as well as the stunning South Florida weather.
With that said, Panthers fans were still able to enjoy a sensational evening of live hockey action, with Florida heading in to the third period tied at two with Pittsburgh, as well as fun interactive fan experiences on the JetBlue Tarmac with the Panthers Party Patrol, the NCAA hoops games on many of the BankAtlantic Center television screens, and more.
“Despite the Panthers narrow loss, it was still a wonderful night of fun and entertainment for our fans on Saturday night,” said Panthers president & COO Michael Yormark. “The action on the ice was captivating, and our other interactive experiences such as the Party Patrol on the JetBlue Tarmac continued to entertain fans as they have all season. With the large amount of competition in the market on Saturday, there’s something to be said for our loyal fan base and our in-game experience that the ‘Center of it All’ was packed on Saturday with more than 18,000 guests.”
