Bakersfield Condors right winger Patrick Russell will suit up this 2018 IIHF World Championship for his native Denmark, set to host the competition May 4-20 in Copenhagen and Herning.
Russell put up 14 goals and 13 assists in 68 games for Bakersfield during his sophomore AHL season in 2017-18 following two seasons in the NCAA with St. Cloud State where the 25-year-old recorded 66 points in 81 games.
The forward's selection to Denmark's roster is the Dane's second World Championship after notching a goal in seven games at the 2017 tournament in Cologne and Paris.
A product of Birkerød, DEN, Russell signed a two-year entry level contract with the Oilers on May 9, 2016.
