An impressive showing for Germany in a 4-2 victory over Finland was cemented with two goals and an assist for Leon Draisaitl, who increases his point production to five goals and three assists through seven preliminary-round contests.

Draisaitl's backhand pass to Dominik Kahun from the left halfboards with just under seven minutes to go in the second frame levelled the score before the Oiler forward was able to tally the eventual game-winner 4:46 into the third with a quick snap shot off the feed from teammate Leonhard Pfoderl.
An empty netter for Draisaitl as the clock hit the one-minute mark sealed a top-4 finish in Group A and a place in the quarter-finals for Germany, who awaited the result of this afternoon's matchup between the United States and Canada to learn they will face the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
SLOVAKIA 2 DENMARK 1 (SO)
Hosts Slovakia and Andrej Sekera won't be going to the quarter-finals, but the nation was able to send off its home crowd and veteran Ladislav Nagy with a shootout win in the swansong of their tournament.

Sekera would forego wearing the 'C' in order to pass the honour to his longtime international teammate Nagy, who had an assist and scored in the shootout in his final game before retiring. The Kosice crowd stood long after the final save was made by Slovak netminder Denis Godla saluting the efforts of their nation and long-time international mainstay Nagy.
Patrick Russell notched an assist for Denmark - his first point for the Danes in four games played at the tournament since arriving after the conclusion of the Bakersfield Condors playoff run.
Slovakia finishes fifth in Group A at 3-1-0-3, with Sekera rounding out his tournament with five points (2G, 3A) in seven appearances at this year's Worlds.

CANADA 3 USA 0
The result of hockey's fiercest rivalry on Tuesday sends both nations in opposite directions.
For Canada, a 3-0 blanking of the United States sees them clinch top spot in Group A and a date with Switzerland in the quarter-finals on Thursday, while a fourth-place finish for the USA means they'll have to get past Russia at the other end of the bracket.

Pierre-Luc Dubois finishing off Mark Stone's feed 1:59 into the first frame put the Canadians ahead and signalled a long evening for the United States. Matt Murray would go on to make 28 saves for the shutout behind insurance markers from Kyle Turris and Jared McCann.
Darnell Nurse, the lone Oilers representative with Canada, has a goal and two assists in seven games this tournament.
RUSSIA 7 SWEDEN 4
You have to hand it to the Russians - they've been excellent.
Group B's leaders handed Adam Larsson and Sweden a 7-4 defeat to finish out their group stage a perfect 7-0-0-0 with a +29 goal differential, setting the stage for a quarter-final clash with the United States on Thursday in Bratislava.
