Six Oilers players and one Oilers prospect are suiting up for their respective countries at the IIHF World Championships in Switzerland from April 24 to May 10.


In Wednesday's quarterfinals, Oilers defenceman Denis Grebeshkov helped the Russians defeat Belarus 4-3 to advance to the semi-finals. Grebeshkov played 15:15 and finished the game even.

In the second quarterfinal, Patrick O'Sullivan and the rest of Team USA eliminated Finland with a 3-2 victory. O'Sullivan registered two penalty minutes and three shots on goal.

Dwayne Roloson, Shawn Horcoff, and the rest of Team Canada will have to wait until Thursday, May 7 to face Latvia in the quarterfinals. Game time is at 8:15am MDT. Sweden, led on the scoresheet by Oilers prospect Linus Omark, will battle Ales Hemsky, Ales Kotalik, and the rest of the Czechs in the final quarterfinal at 12:15pm MDT.
