Hemsky's Powerplay Tally

Special teams continue to play a key role early in the season, and the Oilers capitalized on this particular powerplay opportunity in fine fashion.

After some nice puck movement on the half-boards and at the point, the puck found its way on the stick of Ales Hemsky who rifled the puck into the wide-open cage.

Eberle's Shorthanded Beauty

While it would have been hard to imagine Jordan Eberle scoring another goal close to the beauty of his first, he came close on Saturday night vs. San Jose.

After a tremendous behind-the-back pass from captain Shawn Horcoff, Eberle carried the puck through the neutral zone as he built speed. After seeing an openining in the already porous Sharks defensive coverage, Eberle cut to the net and slid it home to give the Oilers an early 1-0 lead.

Khabibulin's Reactionary Save

On this particular night, Minnesota had already established a 2-0 lead early in the contest to put the Oilers on the hot seat.

Nikolai Khabibulin came up big with several key saves to keep the game within reach. This reactionary save off a deflected pass was the highlight, as he showcased some astonishing athelticism to keep the game close and provide a spark in momentum.
