At 19:07 of the second period, Mike Duco broke in shorthanded to score the Canucks second goal. That tally would prove to be the game winner as Vancouver would hold on to win the game 2-1.

Jordan Eberle's goal at 19:24 of the second period pulled the Oilers to within one. Eberle broke down the right side taking a nice pass from Nugent-Hopkins before deking to his backhand, beating Legace.

In a low-scoring affair, Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack was sharp in Vancouver's net. Lack stopped all ten shots he faced in 31:31 between the pipes, including a couple of the highlight variety.

Vancouver defenceman, Nolan Baumgartner led all players in  blocked shots with three on the night. Baumgartner was fearless in his ability to get in the shooting lanes and break-up scoring chances.

"Anytime I can get anybody to drop the gloves, I don't care if it's a hit, if they just want to fight, that's what it's about."
