EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed free agent defenceman Kevin Gravel to a one-year contract.
Gravel, 26, appeared in 16 games with Los Angeles in 2017-18, posting three points (3A), two penalty minutes and a -3 plus-minus rating. The native of Kingsford, Michigan spent the balance of the season with the AHL's Ontario Reign, where he was an alternate captain and posted 11 points (3G, 8A), 17 penalty minutes and a -3 plus-minus rating in 25 games.

The 6'4", 212-pound left-handed defenceman, has appeared in 70 career NHL games, posting 10 points (1G, 9A), with eight penalty minutes, and an even plus-minus rating.
Gravel has played for the U.S. National Program on three occasions, winning a gold medal at the 2012 World Junior Hockey Championship, the 2010 World Junior A Challenge and a silver medal at the 2009 Hlinka Memorial Cup.
He was originally selected by Los Angeles in the fifth round, 148th overall, at the 2010 NHL Draft.
