Third line produces in Desharnais' debut

The Oilers third line of Zack Kassian, Drake Caggiula and David Desharnais clicked instantly against the Red Wings

David Desharnais skated alongside Drake Caggiula and Zack Kassian in the Oilers 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.

After the newly-acquired Oiler won a faceoff with his skate, Kassian was able to deflect an Adam Larsson point shot past Petr Mrazek.

The troupe of Caggiula, Desharnais and Kassian seemed to click instantly.

"That line was effective and they buzzed in the offensive zone a lot," said Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan.

Kassian spoke with media about his line after Sunday's practice.

"All in all, I thought our line as a whole played pretty well and we just got to continue that," he said. "I just need to skate and open up space. Get pucks in the corners, protect pucks and get the puck in their hands. They're both good players that can make good plays. I just got to create space for them."
