Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) is pleased to announce a new Board Chair and several new Board members. Taking over as Chair is Bruce Saville, President & CEO of the Saville Group. Joining the EOCF’s board this year are Naseem Bashir, President Williams Engineering; Carmen Loberg, President, Norterra Corporation; Dave Mowat, President, ATB Financial & Zainul Mawji, VP TELUS Strategic Networks.
The EOCF welcomes back returning board members Sam Abouhassan, Linda Banister, Michael Bobroff, Patrick LaForge, Kevin Lowe, Terry O’Flynn, Heidi Pisani, and Doug Rutherford.
“Making our community a better place and changing lives is a vital part of our foundation’s work,” said Natalie Minckler, EOCF’s Executive Director. “Together with a dedicated team of volunteers, donors, players, families and staff, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation’s Board of Directors strive to make Oil Country a prosperous and vibrant place to live, while supporting those who need it most.”
Annually, the EOCF gives back in excess of $1.2 million to registered charities in Oil Country who focus their activities on youth, education and health & wellness initiatives. In addition to providing support to hundreds of organizations every year, the EOCF Board is currently undertaking the development of a new Inner City High School for Edmonton – a project that will leave a lasting legacy for at-risk students in our city.
