There's no turning back now! We're less than two weeks away from the start of a new season! Exhibition games are off and running, and so are some of our fan contests as we give away some pretty sick prizes. Learn all about two that we're running right now, check out our World Cup wrap-up and, as always, enjoy our weekly fan spotlight.
The World Cup of Hockey came to a dramatic conclusion on Thursday night as Canada came from behind to score two late third period goals and defeat Europe 2-1 to sweep the championship series and capture the tournament title. Despite the loss, what an incredible run by the European squad, which included Oilers players Leon Draisaitl and Andrej Sekera. #OilCountry is tremendously proud of their team's underdog performance.
You only have a couple of days left to visit a Liquor Depot location in the Edmonton area, find the Molson Canadian contest display, snap a selfie with it & tag the Oilers in your post on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram for your chance to win a trip for two to the #HeritageClassic later this month in Winnipeg. Rock your gear, get on down there before Monday at midnight and enter to win!
It's officially October and that means regular season hockey is right around the corner! Our friends at Canadian Tire want to help you celebrate and get #BackToHockey with limited edition Oilers window decals! Visit an Edmonton-area location to pick up your free decal, and if that wasn't awesome enough, take a photo of where you decide to place your decal, post it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, make sure to tag us and you could win a prize pack that includes $1,000 to spend at CT, tickets to our game vs. Buffalo on Sunday, Oct. 16, and two player-signed jerseys.
