We’re back with another instalment of the Oilers social media blog! Every Saturday, I’m pleased to provide you with a round-up of all the content, contests and campaigns happening on our social media channels. This week, we had the pleasure of featuring another one of your awesome Oilers pets, sharing some spectacular new Rogers Place photos and much more.

On the first Monday of every month, we’ve partnered with the preferred builder of the Oilers, Coventry Homes, to showcase your furry friends and raise funds for the Edmonton Humane Society. For every like, comment or share the pet photo gets on Facebook, and for every retweet and like it receives on Twitter, Coventry Homes will donate $1 to the Edmonton Human Society until we reach our goal of $25,000.

Abby Sharratt’s adorable pooch in an Oilers bandana got us closer to that target this past Monday. Want your pet to be featured next month? Tweet your photo to @edmontonoilers and @CoventryHomes with the hashtag #OilersPets, use that hashtag on Instagram or post your pic on our Facebook page!

It's the first Monday of the month, and that means it's time to feature another Coventry Homes #Oilers pet! Next up for...

Can you believe we’re less than a year away from the opening of Rogers Place in downtown Edmonton?! If you’re not following Rogers Place on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, you’re missing out on some exclusive photos, up close and personal with the construction progress. We shared the latest batch yesterday.

Future home of the #Oilers coming along nicely!

On the ice this past week, the Oil celebrated a big 4-2 win over Philadelphia, with Taylor Hall continuing to assert his dominance on opposing teams. Hallsy scored a goal and chipped in with two assists, putting him in the top five in NHL scoring with 16 points. He had a great celebration following his game-winner, captured by our expert GIF creator @myregularface. Remember to tweet your GIF requests to me (@ryanfrankson) or @edmontonoilers, and we’ll do our best to make it happen!

Oilers fans were ecstatic to have Jordan Eberle back in the lineup for Friday’s game against Pittsburgh, especially Sandra Barata’s little lady who even got to stay up past her bed time to watch the return of #14. Thanks for the tweet, Sandra! Is your fan photo worthy of our weekly spotlight? Post it on our Facebook page or tag @edmontonoilers in your tweet and/or Instagram post!
