Wow, what a week! The 2015-16 season officially came to an end on Wednesday as the NHL doled out its annual awards in Las Vegas, while the focus quickly shifted to the future a couple of days later in Buffalo as the 2016 NHL Draft was held. Our off-season tracker is jam-packed with player posts as well, and, as always, we shine the spotlight on the best fan content. Enjoy our weekly Oil Country social media roundup!

The Oilers added nine exciting new players to the organization on Friday and Saturday at the #NHLDraft in Buffalo, starting with Finnish sensation Jesse Puljujärvi in the first round, fourth overall. The Oilers weren’t sure they’d get a chance to select the right-winger, but he was still available when it came time to pick and GM Peter Chiarelli called his name. Jesse is a big Instagram user and shared several photos throughout draft week. On Saturday, the Oilers selected a goalie (Dylan Wells), three forwards (Tyler Benson, Graham McPhee and Aapeli Räsänen) and four defencemen (Matt Cairns, Filip Berglund, Markus Niemeläinen and Vincent Desharnais).

Connor McDavid was the focal player at last year’s Draft, but this year his destination was the #NHLAwards in Las Vegas as he was a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy given to the NHL’s top rookie. Although Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin ended up taking the honour, McDavid still rocked the red carpet with his family and enjoyed his first Awards experience.

Prior to Connor McDavid’s arrival in Las Vegas for the Awards, he spent his Tuesday in London, Ont., celebrating his older brother Cam’s graduation from Ivey Business School. Meanwhile, Brandon Davidson (a newcomer to Instagram!) shared a Father’s Day photo, and speaking of fathers, Iiro Pakarinen snapped a quick selfie with his daughter. Also across the pond, Leon Draisaitl showed off his sniping skills during a Warrior Hockey commercial shoot at the EHC Red Bull München training facility in Munich. And last, but certainly not least, Zack Kassian banked a little R&R beach time in Cabo San Lucas.

Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Happy Father's Day to the old man and big bro

Oilers players Connor McDavid, Taylor Hall and Cam Talbot were in Halifax earlier in the week as Hockey Canada held its annual #GoldGivesBack festivities, and a few lucky fans (Tyler Doucette and Emily Steele) were able to track them down for photos! Want to see your photo or video in our spotlight next week? Remember to include @edmontonoilers in your tweets and Instagram posts, or upload them on our Facebook page!
