It’s that time again! Every Saturday we bring you up to speed on everything happening in the Oil Country social media-sphere, and this week we’ve got Connor McDavid getting ready to attend the NHL Awards in Vegas, players putting their support behind the upcoming Fire Aid Benefit concert, our off-season tracker and, as always, our fan spotlight. Enjoy this week’s social roundup!

Vegas, baby! Connor McDavid is headed to Sin City this coming week as a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy at Wednesday’s #NHLAwards, up against Artemi Panarin of the Blackhawks and Shayne Gostisbehere of the Flyers. Make sure you’ve added ‘edmontonoilers’ on Snapchat to get a behind-the-scenes look at the festivities and look for plenty of on-site coverage across our social platforms!

Time for our weekly check-in to see what our Oilers are up to in addition to their training this off-season! Patrick Maroon makes his living ripping around the ice, but this week he ripped around the racetrack on go-karts with his son Anthony. Connor McDavid posted a photo from his day at the ballpark for his Toronto Blue Jays first pitch. Meanwhile Down Under, Adam Cracknell donned the maple leaf for the Canada vs. USA Ice Hockey Classic in Melbourne – an event that develops the game Australia while also raising funds for concussion research and support. And over in Sweden, Anton Lander was rocking his Pontus Wernbloom jersey in support of his home country Sweden competing at #EURO2016.

Oilers players took to Twitter this week to show their support for the upcoming Fire Aid Benefit concert on Wednesday, June 29 at Commonwealth Stadium! Oilers Entertainment Group is proud to co-present the diverse musical extravaganza in support of Fort McMurray fire recovery, and you can get your tickets via Ticketmaster.

This week’s spotlight shines on our fans who attended last Sunday’s Farewell Season Clearout Sale at Rexall Place! Oilers loyalists lined up as early as 10:30pm the night before to get first dibs on the memorabilia up for grabs, and also got to meet forward Mark Letestu as well as former captain Jason Smith. Ricky Deveau posted a photo on our Facebook page of his son with Gator, while Jason Mills showed off his new Nail Yakupov jersey and Brandon Kleen was pumped about his Eric Gryba stick. Remember to include @edmontonoilers in your tweets and Instagram posts, or upload them on our Facebook page, to get them in our spotlight!
