Let’s get social, Oilers fans! It’s time once again to reflect on the week that was in Oil Country and beyond across the social media sphere. This week, we check in on some charity ping-pong action in Toronto and get ready for the PGA Canada tournament in Edmonton, in addition to our recurring off-season tracker and fan spotlight. Enjoy!

That’s a paddling! New York Rangers forward Dominic Moore hosted his fifth annual #Smashfest Charity Ping-Pong Challenge this week in Toronto to raise funds for both concussion and cancer research. Oilers players Cam Talbot and Darnell Nurse were in attendance to support the cause and show off their skills! For the second straight year, Patrick Eaves of the Dallas Stars captured the tournament title.

Time to tee off! PGA Canada – Mackenzie Tour arrives in Edmonton this week for the inaugural Oil Country Championship at Glendale Golf & Country Club, proudly co-presented by Oilers Entertainment Group. The festivities kick off with the Celebrity Pro-Am on Monday, featuring many Oilers players taking part, including Adam Larsson on his first visit to Edmonton as a member of his new squad. In addition to Talbot and Nurse flexing their ping-pong muscles, other Oilers players were up to plenty of activities this week! Matt Hendricks is playing summer hockey in Minnesota in something called Da Beauty League, which couldn’t be more appropriate for our beauty of a forward! Also in the State of Hockey, Tyler Pitlick participated in the United Heroes League golf tournament in support of healthy and active lifestyles for children in military families across the United States. Zack Kassian spent some time working on his combat skills, while Connor McDavid enjoyed hanging out with some buddies. Patrick Maroon posted about some roller-hockey bonding with his son Anthony, and right here in Oil Country, Laurent Brossoit was the special guest instructor on Thursday at Oilers Hockey School in St. Albert.

Oilers fan Paul Feledichuk is looking to bring the luck of the Irish to his favourite team this season as he made sure to rock his jersey on his trip to the Emerald Isle. Meanwhile, fellow fan Michael McHale captured this great video of his son gearing up for the 2016-17 campaign in his Connor McDavid jersey shirt.
