Snickers Plays of the Year - Round 1, Game L
<< Game K

Game M >>

Each week during this past season, reviewed all the top goals and saves and put the vote to you the fans for the top play for the week. Those plays are back as the top 32 plays face off in head-to-head competition until a winner is ultimately determined. We will regularly put two plays up against one another and it's up to you to decide which one will advance on to the next round.

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED: Khabibulin (70%) def.  Penner (30%)

Khabibulin Seals Victory

Point-blank chances from Chicago's Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are turned aside in dramatic fashion. Nikolai Khaibulin stretches out to make a brilliant toe save on Toews, while the rebound effort is blocked by a sprawling stacked-pad save to maintain the Oilers' 2-1 edge.

Penner's Drive to the Net

Dustin Penner races down the wing, cuts across the crease and buries a backhand shot to put the Oilers up 2-0 early in the opening period; a marker that would eventually stand as the game-winner vs. New York.
