Each week during this past season, edmontonoilers.com reviewed all the top goals and saves and put the vote to you the fans for the top play for the week. Those plays are back as the top 32 plays face off in head-to-head competition until a winner is ultimately determined. We will regularly put two plays up against one another and it's up to you to decide which one will advance on to the next round.
The play started when Jordan Eberle came rushing down the wing and began working his magic behind the net. After shaking the check of defenceman John-Michael Liles, Eberle found Hall camped at the side of the net as he yelled for the pass.
The precise transfer landed on Hall's tape, where he collected the puck for a brief moment before tucking it under the bar.
With only 28.1 seconds to play, the goal stood up as the game-winner.
Down 1-0 in the New Year's Day Battle of Alberta, the Oilers were in need of a second period spark. That happened courtesy of some brilliant passing and a smooth finish.
Dustin Penner collected the puck on the half boards, where he then dished to an offensively active Tom Gilbert. The reliable defenceman made a move to the inside and slid a perfectly placed backhanded pass onto the tape of Jones, who one-timed the puck to beat the Flames netminder.
