Long-time veteran Ryan Smyth addressed his role with an ever-changing roster knowing that there is a lot of youth and several new faces in the Oilers locker room.
“Whatever the coaches have planned for myself or for the team, whatever is best for the team,” Smyth said at an informal skate this morning. “Obviously, I want to be an asset and help whether it’s offensively chipping in or keeping the pucks out of our end, playing defensively.
I’ve been fortunate to play this long and it’s been a lot of fun doing it. It’s a matter of maintaining focus and continue getting better everyday.”
