The Edmonton Oilers are pleased to announce that defenceman Mathieu Roy has been named to the Canadian AHL All-Star team roster for the upcoming 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, to be played on Monday, January 29 (5:00 pm MST) at Ricoh Colisuem in Toronto.

The 62", 214-pound blueliner has played two games with the Oilers this season and is currently with the team on its three-game road trip after being recalled from the AHLs Hamilton Bulldogs on January 5th to replace Ladislav Smid, who was placed on the NHL Injured Reserve List with a left shoulder sprain.

In 31 games with Hamilton this season, Roy has scored 6-12-18 with 40 PIM and is +17. At the time of his recall he led Bulldogs defencemen in scoring and is ranked seventh on the team in scoring and first in plus/minus.
