EDMONTON, AB -The Edmonton Oilers have activated defenceman Andrej Sekera from injured reserve. He has missed the first part of the 2017-18 season due to injury.
Sekera, 31, suffered the injury on May 5, 2017 against the Anaheim Ducks during game five in the second round of the 2017 playoffs.
The 6'0", 200-pound blueliner appeared in 80 games with the Oilers in 2016-17, posting 35 points (8G, 27A) and 18 penalty minutes. He also played in 11 playoff games, registering three points (1G, 2A).and two penalty minutes.
A native of Bojnice, Slovakia, Sekera has appeared in 647 career NHL games, accumulating 224 points (45G, 179A), 166 penalty minutes and a plus six rating.
