RELEASE: Oilers to host Indigenous Celebration Night

EDMONTON, AB - To recognize the culture, talent and creativity of Indigenous communities across Oil Country, the Edmonton Oilers are proud to announce Indigenous Celebration Night on Monday, November 28 when the club hosts the Florida Panthers at Rogers Place.
The Oilers will be joined by a number of distinguished Indigenous leaders and community members for Monday's celebration, which will also feature special in-game host Ashley Callingbull from Enoch Cree Nation, Logan Alexis Singers, Indigenous Children Dancers, Running Thunder Dancers & Drummers and a special Turtle Island opening video, as well as local Indigenous artists, educators, business owners and more throughout Rogers Place.
Oilers players will also be wearing their limited-edition Turtle Island jerseys during pre-game warmup, designed by Edmonton-based Indigenous artist Lance Cardinal, to be auctioned at a later date. Other Turtle Island and Indigenous-themed Oilers merchandise will be available for purchase with net proceeds going to community support charities including Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society and Inner City Youth Development Association.
The Oilers are honoured to welcome distinguished elders: International Chief Willie Littlechild, Grand Chief George Arcand Jr. (Treaty 6 First Nations), Grand Chief Arthur Noskey (Treaty 8 First Nations), Audrey Poitras (Metis Nation of Alberta Provincial President), Edna Elias (Inuit Elder, educator and politician) and Kiya Bruno from Samson First Nation will be returning to perform O Canada in both Cree and English.
