The Edmonton Oilers organization is extremely saddened by the sudden passing of Oilers amateur scout Frank Jay on Tuesday, August 14.

Jay, 67, was a member of the Oilers scouting staff from 2016 through 2018. He also served in a variety of scouting capacity for Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec and New Jersey.

"On behalf of the entire Oilers organization, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Frank's family and many friends," said Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Peter Chiarelli. "Frank was a great colleague and friend who devoted over 40 years to evaluating the hockey stars of the future. He will be greatly missed by his many friends with the Oilers and throughout the hockey community."
