RELEASE: Oilers sign Strome

The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed forward Ryan Strome to a two-year contract through the 2019-20 season

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed forward Ryan Strome to a two-year contract through the 2019-20 season.

Strome, 24, appeared in all 82 games with the Oilers last season, posting 34 points (13G, 21A) and 33 penalty minutes. He also registered six power play points and three game-winning goals. 

The 6'1", 194-pound forward has appeared in 340 career NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders, tallying 160 points (58G, 102A), with 156 penalty minutes and a +1 plus-minus rating.  

The native of Mississauga, Ontario, has also played in 15 career NHL playoff games, recording eight points (3G, 5A) and four penalty minutes.

Strome was acquired in a trade with the New York Islanders on June 22, 2017. He was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1st round, 5th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft.
