Hamblin

EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have signed defenceman Dmitri Samorukov to a one-year contract extension, in addition to inking defenceman Vincent Desharnais to a two-year contract and forward James Hamblin to a two-year entry-level contract, both commencing with the 2022-23 season.
Samorukov, 22, has appeared in 36 games with the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors this season, posting two goals and nine assists. He also made his NHL debut on Dec. 29 against the St. Louis Blues. The 6-foot-3, 188-pound blueliner has recorded four goals and 19 assists in 88 career AHL games. Samorukov was selected 84th overall by the Oilers at the 2017 NHL Draft.
Desharnais, 25, has appeared in 42 games with the Condors this season, posting five goals and 15 assists with an AHL-leading +23 plus/minus rating. The 6-foot-6, 216-pound defenceman, selected 183rd overall by the Oilers in 2016, has recorded five goals and 23 assists in 85 career AHL games.
Hamblin, 22, has registered 12 goals and eight assists in 39 games with Bakersfield this season. Over two seasons and 77 career games with the Condors, the Edmonton native and former standout with the Western Hockey League's Medicine Hat Tigers has accumulated 19 goals and 16 assists.
