EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Derek Ryan to a two-year contract extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $900,000.

Ryan appeared in 80 games during the 2022-23 campaign, his second season with the Oilers, posting 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points along with a plus/minus of +11.

The Spokane, Wash. native also recorded career highs in shorthanded goals (2), blocked shots (42) and hits (54) while ranking sixth among Edmonton forwards in goals, 11th in points, sixth in takeaways (43) and fifth in total shorthanded time on ice (97:53).

The 5'10", 185-pound forward and University of Alberta product played his 500th career game this past season and also made 11 playoff appearances, tallying one goal and a pair of assists while averaging 11:50 of ice time per game.

Ryan has scored 76 goals and 115 assists for 191 points in his 500 career NHL regular season games, as well as three goals and six assists in 41 career playoff appearances.
