EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed free agent forward Connor Brown to a one-year contract with an annual average value (AAV) of $4M.

The 6-foot, 185 pound forward appeared in the first four games of the 2022-23 season for the Washington Capitals before suffering a season-ending injury.

Originally a sixth-round selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012 (156th overall), the Etobicoke, Ontario native has appeared in 448 career games, recording 90 goals and 126 assists for 216 points along with 90 penalty minutes. Through an additional 20 postseason games, the 29-year-old tallied a goal and four assists.

Making his Toronto debut in the 2015-16 season, the former Erie Otter and junior hockey teammate of current Oiler Connor McDavid signed with the Ottawa Senators as a free agent prior to the 2019-20 campaign after 253 games as a Leaf (43-56-99). During his time in Toronto, he logged an average of 15:00 TOI per game and 1:35 while shorthanded.

As a Senator (2019-20 to 2021-22) he skated in another 191 games (47-70-117) averaging 19:33 TOI and 2:42 per game killing penalties.
