EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed free-agent defenceman Cody Ceci to a four-year contract with an average annual value of $3.25 million.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound blueliner posted four goals and 17 points in 53 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and an additional two assists in six playoff games during the 2020-21 NHL season.
The 27-year-old led all Pittsburgh defencemen with 70 blocked shots and ranked second in hits with 74 while logging an average ice time per game of 18:31.
The Ottawa, Ont. product was drafted 15th overall at the 2012 NHL Draft by his hometown Ottawa Senators and spent six seasons with the club from 2013 to 2019.
Ceci played for the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2019-20 campaign after being traded by the Senators on July 1, notching a goal and eight assists in 56 games.
In 585 career regular season and playoff games, Ceci has registered 38 goals and 111 assists.
