EDMONTON, AB - The NHL has announced the protected lists for the 30 participating teams ahead of Wednesday's Seattle Kraken NHL Expansion Draft, as the Oilers will have seven forwards, three defencemen and one goalie exempt from selection.
Up front, the club opted to protect Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jesse Puljujarvi, Kailer Yamamoto, Zack Kassian and Josh Archibald.
On the back end, Darnell Nurse, Ethan Bear and newly-acquired Duncan Keith were protected. Between the pipes, the Oilers deemed Stuart Skinner off limits for the Kraken.
The Expansion Draft will be held Wednesday at 6pm MT, televised on Sportsnet in Canada and ESPN2 in the United States - the American network's first broadcast of its seven-year agreement.
The NHL Draft will then be held on Friday (Round 1) and Saturday (Rounds 2-7).
