EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have announced changes to their coaching staff, relieving assistant coach Jim Johnson and not exercising the option on assistant coach Ian Herbers' contract. Todd McLellan will remain as Head Coach.
McLellan, 50, has served as an NHL Head Coach for 786 games and ranks seventh in winning percentage (.597) among active NHL coaches through the 2017-18 season.
Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Peter Chiarelli says, "On behalf of the organization, I would like to thank Jim and Ian for their time and service to the Edmonton Oilers and wish them all the best in their future endeavors."
