EDMONTON, AB - With opening night of the 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers hockey season just two months from today, the NHL has announced start times for the club's 82-game schedule.
Of the 41 Oiler home games this season, the club will take to the ice at Rogers Place 12 times at 8:00 PM (MT) with five games at 7:30 PM (MT), 18 games at 7:00 PM (MT) and a pair of games at both 6:00 and 6:30 PM (MT). The schedule also includes one game at 5:00 PM and a 1:00 PM (MT) faceoff.
For the second consecutive year, the Oilers opening night features an 8:00 PM (MT) puck-drop versus the Vancouver Canucks as the teams start regular season play on Wednesday, October 13.
The first installment of this year's Battle of Alberta takes centre stage three nights later at 8:00 PM (MT) with the Calgary Flames in town on Saturday, October 16. The club wraps up the season-opening homestand on Tuesday, October 19 against the Anaheim Ducks at 7:00 PM (MT).
Following last year's 56-game season in the all-Canadian Scotia North Division, the Oilers return to the Pacific Division for the 2021-22 campaign and welcome its newest rival, the Seattle Kraken, on Monday, November 1 at 7:30 PM (MT).
The lone 5:00 PM (MT) start goes Saturday, March 5 versus Montreal and the 1:00 PM (MT) home-ice matinee features the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, March 19.
The team's stretch drive includes five of its final seven games at home and three of those versus Pacific Division clubs. Vegas comes to Edmonton on Friday, April 15 at 7:00 pm (MT), Vancouver the next night at 8:00 PM (MT) and the San Jose Sharks round-out the club's home schedule on Thursday April 28 at 7:00 PM (MT).
