The Oilers prepared for an honest day of work Sunday. The team dropped a 5-1 decision Saturday night in their first game back from the bye week.
"Very necessary for how our performance was last night," said defenceman Brandon Davidson. "I think that today's also a learning day as well as a work day. I think that there's a good battle and compete in practice and we can grow from that and that's something that we needed to implement in our game yesterday so he (Head Coach Todd McLellan) brought it out of us today. Lesson learned."
Taking full advantage of long, insightful practices now will benefit the club the next two months when there are more games and fewer practices.
"When you look at the next 56 days, we play every other day. There's not a whole lot of practice times. I think that it was very important for us to get into some work here today and tomorrow again. We're not going to let off the gas pedal here, especially when we only have a limited amount of days for practice."
