Finland defeated Latvia 4-1 on Tuesday to sweep the relegation round, booking their spot in the 2018 World Junior Championship held in Buffalo, N.Y.
It was a three-goal third period for Finland that ended up being the difference in the game. Juuso Valimaki had two of the three markers in the final frame.
The Oilers sixth round (153-overall) 2016 draft pick Aapeli Räsänen had two power play assists in just under 21 minutes of ice time. His Sioux City Musketeers teammate Eeli Tolvanen scored a goal and assist.
Räsänen finishes the tournament with two goals - one game-winner and the other on the power play - four assists and six points in six games. The Finn had 17 shots on goal, good for an 11.76% shooting percentage. He also had two penalty minutes and was a minus-one.
