PRE-GAME REPORT

EDMONTON, AB - Thursday's 2-1 shootout victory over the Anaheim Ducks busted the Oilers four-game winless streak. The club now sets their sights on Dallas and Chicago.
The Oilers ended their four-game home stand 1-2-1 and are somewhat relieved to be hitting the road.
"This year, our trouble hasn't come on the road, it's come at home here," said Zack Kassian. "As a group, we're looking forward to getting on the road and trying to string together a couple games."
Edmonton will play two back-to-back matinee matches, first against the Stars on Saturday then versus the Blackhawks Sunday.
TWO IN 24
Edmonton will play at 1:00 p.m. MST both games. The Oilers don't typically see many matinee games in a season but received an unusual amount in the 2017-18 campaign.
"I don't think I've ever played back-to-back afternoon games," said Oscar Klefbom. "It's going to be a challenge, for sure."
The Oilers are 1-4-0 this season in afternoon matchups and still have four remaining.
"It's one of those things where we just need to regain our focus," said Kassian. "We've had a good handful of them this year and we haven't had the result we wanted in all of them but a good time to get that back is the next two."
Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan revealed the challenge upcoming back-to-back afternoon matchups present.
"The second one doesn't worry me as much as the first one," the Oilers coach began, noting he changed the club's routine for this unique occasion.
"We normally would not have skated today. We would have flown down and had a pre-game skate. So, we've already made one adjustment. There are other things we do to make sure our team is ready to go: meetings in the evenings versus meetings in the morning but at the end of the day, it is what it is and the players have to show up and play."
MONTOYA INCOMING
McLellan said goaltender Al Montoya, who was acquired by the Oilers during Thursday's game against the Ducks, will assemble with his new team in Dallas.
"Montoya will meet us in Dallas and then the management group will make a decision on transactions and what not," said McLellan, alluding to Laurent Brossoit, who is still with the club for the time being.
Given that the Oilers will play two sets of back-to-backs on this road trip - the second set being next Friday-Saturday against Arizona and Vegas - Montoya could see some action soon.
"We'll see how Montoya is when he gets to Dallas," said McLellan. The career backup has been sidelined since Nov. 4, due to a concussion injury and is 2-1-0 this season.
"We've certainly done our homework as an organization on his health," McLellan continued. "He's practiced, he's been involved in everything he needs to be in Montreal. If he's healthy, potentially he gets the back-to-back or Cam plays both or LB gets in one of them."
Montoya is 65-47-22 over his career, splitting parts of his NHL tenure with Arizona, Winnipeg, Florida, Montreal and now, Edmonton.
