The Edmonton Oilers announced today they have acquired goaltender Viktor Fasth from the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for a 5th round draft selection in 2014 and a 3rd round draft selection in the 2015 NHL Draft.
Fasth, 31, has appeared in five games for the Anaheim Ducks this season, posting a 2-2-1 record, a .885 save percentage and a 2.95 goals against average. He has also played three games with the American Hockey League’s Norfolk Admirals, recording a .914 save percentage and a 1.96 goals against average.
The 6’0”, 185-pound netminder has compiled a record of 17-8-3 in 30 career National Hockey League games. He has registered a .915 save percentage, a 2.32 goals against average and four shutouts.
Fasth was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Anaheim Ducks in 2012, after spending six seasons in the Swedish Elite League.
