Plays of the Week Voting Results

Each week, features the top plays and gives fans a chance to vote on their favourite goal, hit or save. At the end of the year, we will list all the plays which received the most votes and allow fans to vote on the 2007-08 Plays of the Year.

Listed below are the winning plays for the past week, which includes games from March 7 to 15, as voted by you the fans.
#3: Ales Hemsky's slap shot from the high slot in the second period of Sunday's game in San Jose knotted the game up at 1-1 and set the stage for Edmonton's eventual 2-1 shootout victory.  

  • Goal:  (EDM) Hemsky, A. (PPG, 14:06 in 2nd) 700K
#2: A bad line change in overtime set up a two-on-none situation for the San Jose Sharks but Oilers goaltender Dwayne Roloson stood his ground, stopping a shot from San Jose's Joe Thornton. Edmonton went on to win the game in a shootout.

  • Goal:   (EDM) Roloson, D. on Thornton, J. (03:14 in OT) 700K
#1: With 4.9 seconds left to play in overtime, Andrew Cogliano scores on St. Louis Blues goaltender Manny Legace. The goal was Cogliano's third overtime winner in as many games which set a new NHL record.
