The Edmonton Oilers have activated right winger Fernando Pisani and defenceman Daniel Tjarnqvist from the NHL Injured Reserve List.
To make room on the roster for Pisani and Tjarnqvist, the Oilers have placed centre Petr Nedved on the NHL Injured Reserve List and assigned left winger Zack Stortini to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Pisani was placed on the NHL Injured Reserve List on February 19th and missed the first five games (February 13-22) of the Oilers current season-high seven-game road trip due to a concussion suffered in Edmontons 5-1 win versus Atlanta on February 11th at Rexall Place. Pisani has scored 11-10-21 with 28 PIM in 56 games this season and leads the Oilers in plus/minus at +5.
Tjarnqvist has been sidelined with an inflamed pubic bone that has seen him miss all but one of the Oilers last 23 games between January 2nd and February 22nd. He missed the first three games of January (Jan. 2nd-5th) before returning to the lineup at Los Angeles on January 8th. He played 20:49 and was +1 in his only appearance in the last 46 days and was placed on the NHL Injured Reserve List on January 12th. He has missed the last 19 games (Jan. 10-Feb. 22).
Nedved has been out of the lineup for Edmontons last two games (Feb. 20-22) after suffering a knee injury in the Oilers 4-3 loss at Toronto on February 17th.
Stortini, who was recalled to the Oilers for second time this season on January 27th, has scored 1-0-1 with 35 penalty minutes in 12 games with Edmonton in 2006-07.
