O'Sullivan, Kotalik tally three points at Worlds

Six Oilers players and one Oilers prospect are suiting up for their respective countries at the IIHF World Championships in Switzerland from April 24 to May 10.


Oilers forward Patrick O'Sullivan registered the opening goal and an assist in USA's 6-5 overtime loss to Sweden on Wednesday, bringing his tournament totals to three goals and two assists. Edmonton prospect Linus Omark tallied two shots and finished -1 for Sweden.

In the Czech Republic's game vs. Finland, fellow Oiler Ales Kotalik registered his first goal of the tournament by beating Finnish 'tender Pekka Rinne on the powerplay in the second period. Kotalik finished the game at -1, matching teammate Ales Hemsky in the plus/minus category.

Omark is currently ranked ninth among tournament scoring leaders with one goal and five assists in three games, while O'Sullivan is now tied for 10th thanks to Wednesday's two-point performance.
