Slovakia had a 3-1 lead slip away on Saturday as Finland rallied to win the Bronze Medal by a score of 4-3.
USA trounced Finland 6-1 on Friday afternoon to advance to the Gold Medal Game. The Americans raced out to a 6-0 lead in the opening period before holding on for the victory. The win puts USA back in the Gold Medal Game for the first time since losing to the Canadians in 2002.
In the second semifinal game, Lubomir Visnovsky scored a goal but his Slovakian team fell 3-2 to Canada. Slovakia still has an opportunity to win the country's first-ever Olympic medal on Saturday night when they take on Finland at 8:00 p.m. MST.
Visnovsky now has three points (two goals, one assist) in six games throughout the tournament. He also has a +1 rating with nine shots on goal.
Canada's quest for Olympic Gold culminates in a match with the USA at 1:00 p.m. MST on Sunday.
