The Edmonton Oilers have reduced their roster to 26 players with two player assignments.
Centre Rob Schremp was returned to the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League and defenceman Dan Syvret was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Schremp and Syvret were teammates with London last season, helping the Knights to a record setting OHL campaign that culminated in a Memorial Cup championship. Syvret was the Knights captain.
With the assignments, the Oilers now have 26 players remaining in camp; three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 15 forwards.
The Oilers open their 26th NHL regular season on Wednesday, October 5th when they host the Colorado Avalanche. The opening face-off for the season opener is 8:00 p.m. at Rexall Place.
