Oilers to open Rexall Place for all road games

Family Cheer Party Presented by Bell

The Edmonton Oilers, Northlands and Bell are opening Rexall Place to the public to watch CBC's Hockey Night In Canada broadcasts of Oilers away games versus the Carolina Hurricanes during the Stanley Cup Finals.

"Weve heard from so many Oilers fans asking us to open up Rexall Place for away games," said Patrick LaForge, President & CEO of the Edmonton Oilers. "Thanks to our partners at Northlands, Ticketmaster, CBC and Bell, were proud to announce that the doors are opening for our fans!"

General admission tickets for the games will be available in advance only, and are priced at $5.00 each. Tickets for Games 1 & 2 will go on sale on Saturday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m., while supplies last. Game 1 is scheduled for Monday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m., and Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m. The doors to Rexall Place will open at 5:00 p.m. both days. Tickets will not be available at the door.

The Family Cheer Party, presented by Bell, is a family-friendly event that is open to all ages. Concessions at Rexall Place will be open, however alcoholic beverages will not be served. As well, The Oilers Store on the main concourse of Rexall Place will be open for fans looking to outfit themselves in time for the game.

Net proceeds from the event will be donated to charity, including the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and Kids Up Front. Ticketmaster has waived all service charges in support of the charities.

Sponsors for the event include Bell, Northlands, Ticketmaster, the Edmonton Journal, 630 CHED, Joe FM, CISN, Cool 880 and CBC Edmonton.
